From colleagues to crew: two days on the water with Sentinel

Two days of sailing, stunning autumn sunshine and time together away from the office. What a way to start October for the Sentinel team!

The two day bespoke event took place onboard one of our larger yachts, Solent Mistress, a Beneteau Oceanis 45. With stops at Beaulieu, Yarmouth and Cowes, their itinerary brought together plenty of sailing, good food and an overnight glamping stay on the Isle of Wight.

A bespoke itinerary

A team building event can give colleagues the chance to try something new together, while also leaving time to relax and catch up. For Sentinel, a two-day itinerary meant there was room for both, exploring different parts of the Solent along the way.

The team started with breakfast aboard Solent Mistress at Port Hamble Marina, followed by introductions to the crew and a safety briefing. Then it was time to leave the dock and get out on the water.

Beautiful sunshine and a steady breeze made for a fantastic morning of sailing before heading into the Beaulieu River and stopping at B

uckler’s Hard for lunch. An afternoon back on the Solent followed, with the team sailing across to Yarmouth to berth for the evening.

Their overnig

ht stay at Glamping The Whyte Way gave everyone a chance to unwind and spend a more informal evening together, ready for another day on the water.

A different view from the working day

Day two began with breakfast at a café in Yarmouth before setting sail for Cowes. An early lunch at The Coast left plenty of time for an afternoon of sailing, making the most of the conditions before returning to Hamble.

Throughout the two days, there was plenty of opportunity for the team to get involved in the sailing, alongside time to simply enjoy being out on the water together.

A great combination which gives team’s something different to do together, away from their usual roles and routines, with conversations continuing over lunch and into the evening.

Built around your team

Sentinel’s trip is a great example of the flexibility a bespoke sailing event can offer. An overnight stay opens up more destinations and gives the team longer to settle into the experience, with time ashore adding another part to the trip.

Whether you’re planning a single day on the Solent or a longer break, we can help shape the sailing, lunch stops and accommodation around your group and what you want from your time together.
